A new calculating method for solving orthotropic plates is presented in the paper.The orthotropic plate is dealt as a equivalent isotropic plate with ribs.By this way the orthotropic plate can be calculated by general programs of isotropic plate and beam.Therefor the practical range of the general programs for minicalculators has been widened.
