COMBINATORIAL OPTIMIZATION OF FINITE ELEMENT SYSTEMS

This paper presents a multistage decision operator method for structural combinatorialoptimization of finite element systems. By using the method, the optimum design problem of plane frame consisting of beam-containing element and the optimum design problem of elastic thin plate are discussed and solved successfully. Because the method possesses the features of good common use, simple formulation and programming, saving computing time and samll storage needs of the computer, it can be widely applied in the engineering design.
