HEATING EFFECT OF SONOTRODE IN TRANSMISSION OF ULTRASONIC WAVES

  • The transmission of ultrasonic waves in sonotrode-melt system is studied, and the temperature rise of sonotrode is detected. It is shown that the temperature rise results from the sonotrode's structure damping (internal friction), and is relevant to energy density of ultrasonic waves and to the characteristic impedance ratio between sonotrode and melt.
