Abstract
Explicit finite element method for contact problem of 2D shell structure with large plastic deformation is presented in this paper. The formulations of degenerated shell, return mapping algorithm, contact searching and Lagrangian multiplier method for evaluation of contact force were described. The method in this paper has been applied successfully to the practical sheet forming analysis and very good agreement between the numerical results and the experimental results was obtained.
