ANALYSIS OF MULTILAYER SOIL DYNAMIC PROBLEMS BY INITIAL FUNCTION METHOD

In this paper,the Initial Function Method is used to analyse the displacements and stresses of multilayer soils subject to surface loading.Analytical formulas are derived for this problem.Regardless of the number of layers the problem is finally reduced to the solution of two simultaneous linear equations with two unknowns.The formulas for computing the surface displacements of single layer soil subject to uniform force are verified with those in referenee7.
