THE INFLUENCE OF BASE STIFFNESS ON STATUS OF COMPOSITE FOUNDATIONS

Due to its economic efficiency and good feasibility, composite foundations have found wide application. The design of composite foundations has changed from load-carrying capacity control to subsidence control. In most theories of composite foundation, the foundation is assumed to be rigid and the influence of foundation stiffness is neglected. In this paper, numerical methods are used to investigate the influence of foundation stiffness on the stresses and deformation of the composite foundation, highlighting the discrepancy.
