THE SPIRAL WINDING QUASI-DISTRIBUTED OPTIC FIBER SENSOR BASED ON GENERAL OPTIC FIBERS

  • It is difficult to resolve the problem of measuring the distributed stress status of large structures using traditional methods. A new method using the spiral winding optic fiber strain sensor is proposed, and a theoretical model is given in this paper. Experiments were carried to validate the theory. The present method provides a new way for the distributed stress measure of large structures, especially the prestressed reinforcement in prestressed concrete structures.
