SIMULATION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL STEADY STATE PLATE ROLLING BY REPRODUCING KERNEL PARTICLE METHOD

  • The principle of the reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM) and its application to bulk forming of slightly compressible rigid-plastic material are presented. The penalty method is employed to impose the essential boundary condition. Background cell is utilized to the integration process and different types of Gauss quadrature schemes are introduced in the interior and the boundary, respectively. Tensor product weight function that has brick influence domain is used. Three-dimensional steady state of plate rolling is analyzed using the proposed method. The simulation results of reproducing kernel particle method agree well with those of the rigid-plastic finite element method and the experimental data in the literature. It is essential for solving mesh distortion problem in bulk forming.
