  • Put forward a method which assesses the aerostatic instability of long span bridges by the approach of dynamic finite element analysis.The aerostatic instability of XIHOUMEN suspension bridge and east coast sea cable-stayed bridge which include the effects of geometric nonlinearity and buffeting are investigated.The analytical data shows that neglecting buffeting influence lead to conservative result.
