IMPACT RESISTANCE ANALYSIS OF A STEEL BEAM IN A COAL WORKSHOP

  • By utilizing the finite element software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the impact resistance property of a steel beam in a coal workshop is studied and the effect of coal steel cubical baskets on the stop of the beam is analyzed. The results illustrate that the action of a coal steel cubical basket is a pulse load of the analogical rectangle. Stresses in the bottom flange, the web and stiffened rib around the impacted area and supporter are tremendous large. This may indicate that the thicknesses of the bottom flange and web can be increased while the upper one’s can be reduced.
