Abstract
The influences of stress level, load-lasting time, temperature and concrete strength on the short-term thermal creep of concrete are investigated based on experiments. It is shown that the short-term thermal creep of concrete is a linear function of the stress level, a power function of the load-lasting time, a parabolic function of the temperature and affected by the concrete strength. The influences of the concrete strength and the temperature are obviously coupled. A calculation model for the short-term thermal creep of concrete is proposed based on the experimental results. It can be used to analyze the mechanical performance of concrete structures subjected to high temperature.
