Abstract
Perform-3D software is used to construct an equivalent fiber model for the hysteretic performance analysis of a new self-centering wall with vertical dampers (VD-SCW). Through the comparison between simulated and experimental results of a tested self-centering wall, the effectiveness of the constructed equivalent fiber model is verified. On the basis of the constructed model, the influence of key parameters on the hysteretic performance of VD-SCWs is analyzed. The results show that: with the increase of the yield strength in dampers, the activating force and energy dissipation capacity of VD-SCWs will be improved; also the energy dissipation capacity of VD-SCWs is minor with the low stiffness dampers. However, the stiffness of dampers do not have obvious influence on the energy dissipation of walls while they are increased to a certain value. The increase of tension force in tendons will increase the activating force of the walls and then decrease the rocking capacity due to the early yield of tendons, but its influence on energy dissipation of the wall is minor.
