Abstract
To investigate multi-blade effects on aero-engine fan casing containment capability, numerical simulations combined with a component experiment are necessary. In this paper, good agreements with the experiment results are obtained from the numerical simulations employing a refined enough mesh and suitable material relations with proper values. It is shown that the blade rotating afterward drives the released blade moving forward, supplies its kinetic energy, makes a great effect on the second impact of the containment process during the blade-out event, and weakens the containment capability of the casing.
