Abstract: With the principle of the minimum potential energy, an analytical solution for the lateral criticalbuckling load of tied-arch bridges is studied. To verify the solution's accuracy, a practical bridge is analyzed usingthe formula presented this paper. The structural parameter influence on the lateral buckling load is also investigated.
